Peppermint is a hybrid mix between watermint and spearmint..The most common use of this oil is for upset stomachs, muscle pain and headaches. The use of diffusing peppermint oil has shown that it can help with alertness and memory. Peppermint can be ingested, inhaled and used topically.
Ingestion: Peppermint is something that is pretty popular in drinks. My Favourite is a herbal tea, it’s great for settling an upset stomach or helping with digestion. Many food recipes also include peppermint.
Inhaled: Peppermint is great in a diffuser, it can be used to help with congestion during cold and flu season. Only a few drops are needed to fill the room up with the peppermint aroma.
Topical: This type of application is the one I use most often. Peppermint oil has become part of my daily routine before I go to bed. I was in a really bad car accident a few years ago, I suffer from chronic neck and back pain along with migraines and headaches. From the time of my accidents a collection of pain killers was part of my daily routine, it was the only way I could function enough to get through my day. The pain made sleeping almost impossible, making it hard to function and made my road to recovery more challenging. Not saying that essential oils have healed my pains, but they have almost complexity replaced my pain med regiment. I use lavender oil and peppermint oil every night before bed to help me sleep, relax, and ease tension and pain.. This mix has helped me sleep deeper and longer resulting in my body getting more opportunity to heal and recover from my injuries and my day.
